Not only did he get a bunch of presents that he wanted, but he got his name on Hope's minimart sign... wishing him a Happy Birthday.
Max wanted a Nintendo DS for Christmas, when Santa didn't bring it, he was sure that he would get one for his birthday. Well, let me tell you that Santa has a REALLY rough job. I only had to find 1 present for one well deserving little boy. Apparently, Nintendo sold over 4 million DS's during the month of December. That's more units sold in one month than Sony has sold PS3s since they hit the streets.
So, on January 4th, one day before the birthday party... we wen to get a DS. None could be found!!!!! We called stores from Scranton, to Philly, to York, to Bloomsburg...... nothing. Except 2 stores that each had one pink DS. Uh... NO!!!!
We even had family calling around. To top it off, Max wanted a Red one. Sheesh. Finally, when we called Toys-R-Us in Allentown, they had 2. And, one of them was a red one. Yeah!!!!!!
Well, Max got his Red DS, and was very happy... Mom & Dad were a bit grayer, but just as happy. This present was important to us, not because he wanted it so much... but, because we wanted him to have it. He hasn't put it down yet. :-)
Here are some pictures from the party.
