Pastoral Assessment

Well, this past weekend Kim and I had attended a Pastoral Assessment at the EC headquarters in Meyerstown, Pa.

Things went well. I have found that I have a true calling, and that I possess the gifts and graces needed to enter into pastoral ministry. I have slightly new path to follow now. I am going to finish out my semester at Liberty Univ and cease classes there. The assessment team wants me to take a leadership course at the seminary, and then go directly into the seminary. Things are happening a lot quicker than we had expected. Instead of 8-10 years of prep work and then entering ministry, we were instructed to begin work in our church that was a bit more challenging than we are used to. While doing that I am to be working with a mentor. And while doing all of that I will be taking classes. I am to return to the Assessment Center and be re-evaluated in a year or two. From there they will possibly place me in a church while attending seminary. Things are really progressing now. Our excitement is overflowing.

We have only pieces to the puzzle of life that God has given us to work on. Every once in a while He provides us with a key piece. I think we got a corner to begin to work from. That is a big insight about the whole of the puzzle.

Blessings,
